Buy Italian driving license. I had only been in Italy for four months when I had figured out how to get through the complicated process of getting a stay permit. Visited several official agencies, took what seemed like hundreds of passport photographs, paid for numerous marche di bollo and the necessary stamps (at recently increased costs!), and located an apartment. HOW TO GET AN ITALIAN DRIVER’S LICENSE:
2. GO TO CLASS AND STUDY
The written exam course is not required at most driving schools in Italy, and you may determine how much you need it. You may study on your own at home if you are determined and fluent in the language. Though I didn’t attend all of the lessons, I thought that it was a good start for me, providing me with a foundation vocabulary for the written tests and teaching me how to design questions, which aren’t always straightforward. Your autoscuola will most likely include an online quizzing system that you may use to study, but if not, there are several quizzes available on the internet. Practice makes perfect: you can only miss four out of thirty questions on your written exam.
3. PRACTICE WITH AN INSTRUCTOR
You’ll need to complete a set number of hours of driving practice with an instructor, just like in America. Despite the fact that the minimum is six, many young Italians will be required to complete more before sitting the test. I only finished four because they knew I had been driving since I was 16, and while I was grateful for the time saved, I discovered that the practice wasn’t all for naught. Certain driving regulations that my instructor provided with me proved useful for the final exam, such as how to properly manage roundabouts, what gear to use at what speed limit, and how instructors feel about passing cars that are double parked.
4. TAKE THE WRITTEN EXAM
